About me

Wenshao (Shawn) Zhang, Barrister & Solicitor

I have provided a wide range of services to both private and public companies across diverse industries, encompassing real estate development, property management, entertainment, tourism, hotels, agriculture, fishing, building materials, manufacturing, childcare, education, restaurants, medical clinics, and technology.

My professional expertise extends to various aspects of business law, including company incorporation at both the provincial (BC) and federal levels, corporate restructuring, limited partnership registration, shareholder agreements, stock options, commercial leases, and facilitating the purchase and sale of businesses.

On a regular basis, I represent clients in private loan transactions, real estate conveyances, mortgages, municipal covenants, and general contract matters, providing them with sound legal counsel and support.

Beyond my legal career, I am widely recognized for my groundbreaking work in open-source intelligence, particularly in uncovering extralegal detention camps in China’s western region of Xinjiang. My work has been cited in reports by the United Nations, the United States government, and various other government agencies, as well as extensively covered by mainstream media.

During my free time, I indulge in my passion for cooking, with a special interest in exploring Turkic cuisines.
